Human Trafficking Advocate Training

SafeHouse offers an intensive 40-hour Human Trafficking Advocate training that satisfies the training requirement for California Evidence Code 1038.2(b).*
 

Our training curriculum topics include,
but are not limited to:

  • History of human trafficking

  • Civil and criminal law relating to human trafficking

  • Systems of oppression

  • Peer counseling techniques

  • Resources available to victims of human trafficking

  • Crisis intervention and counseling techniques

  • Role playing

  • Intersections of human trafficking and other crimes

  • Client and system advocacy

  • Referral services

  • Connecting to local, regional, and national human trafficking coalitions

  • Explaining privileged communications

Led by the passionate experts at SafeHouse and bolstered by guest facilitators from our network of city partners, this training is available to community members, partner agencies and SafeHouse volunteers. 

Training cost: $175
