Reverend Hope 86th Birthday!

July 3rd marks the 86th birthday of SafeHouse founder, Reverend Glenda Hope. 24 years ago Reverend Hope saw a crisis in her community affecting women who were trafficked and exploited with little to no recourse or support. She spoke to the women being affected and listened to their stories and needs. She opened her heart and her doors, and took action to help her unhoused neighbors in need.

Today, SafeHouse has served over 500 women through the transitional house, hundreds more from the drop-in Hope Center, and the new successful Rapid Rehousing Program, SafeHouse has provided over 90,000 safe nights for thousands of women in San Francisco. What began with a conversation, continues with heart. SafeHouse follows Glenda's tireless example of leading with compassion, and we honor her, and wish her a very best 86th birthday.

One of the greatest joys of life in my 86th year of life is hearing from or about a SafeHouse graduate who has embraced her true beauty, strength, worth and wisdom as a daughter of God and transformed her life. There are so many!  Added to this is knowing of the expansion of the original vision for SafeHouse into the Hope Center and other work reaching out and supporting more homeless sex trafficked and prostituted women to do the same.  Soon, SafeHouse will reach an amazing 25th Anniversary.
Thank you so much for being part of this.
